Blackbird Flies

Payton MacGregor has led a difficult life. At fifteen he has  visions of a good education and future. His mother has struggled with a drug addiction, alcoholism, and bipolarism. She loved him but the demons won. He never knew his father and was cared for by his grandparents. Now he is uprooted; bitter and resentful is an understatement.

With little notice he is going to meet his dad and step mom, Liam and Katie. Not really liking the whole idea, he has little intention of giving them any slack.

Throw a beautiful Lily Joplin into the mix and now maybe this whole thing doesn’t seem so bad. Did I mention that Payton is mature beyond his years and highly gifted?

Chynna’s descriptions and story had me immediately involved. I was glued and it read smoothly, very emotional and amazing. I think everyone should read it because more than one lesson is learned here. ‘There are two sides to every story.’ ‘Don’t do drugs.’ ‘Be careful what you do, your actions can effect someone else.’

I give this story 5 Sunflowers.
